The nomination window for Chair of the Faculty candidates for the 2023 faculty election has been extended to Thursday, October 20, 2022. Nominations may be submitted using the form available at this link.

Ideal nominees:

  • have strong leadership experience and interpersonal skills;
  • possess knowledge of the campus community and an understanding of the issues facing it;
  • have UNC-CH faculty governance experience; and
  • can effectively communicate faculty values and perspectives.

More information is available in the initial call for nominations message from Advisory Committee Chair Kenya McNeal-Trice. The committee seeks to identify a diverse and broadly representative pool of qualified, dedicated, and interested nominees. They welcome recommendations from their faculty colleagues.

As current Chair of the Faculty Mimi Chapman said at the October Faculty Council meeting:

     Faculty governance is only as strong as those who
     participate in it. Don’t let the opportunity pass you by.
