This statement by the Faculty Executive Committee is issued in response to the news that, on April 28, the Carolina Review’s website was hacked and some of its distribution boxes were vandalized. We look forward to learning more about this incident once a police investigation has been completed.

Mimi Chapman, Chair of the Faculty

The Faculty Executive Committee reaffirms the importance of free expression and constructive dialog in the life of the university, as stated in Faculty Council Resolution 2018-3, and condemns the recent incidents of vandalism against the Carolina Review. We urge everyone on campus to continue to work on building a climate that fosters civil discourse and open debate.
