The Faculty Council and General Faculty will meet for the first time for the 2014-15 academic year on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Pleasants Family Assembly Room at Wilson Library. All members of the faculty are invited to attend. The meeting will feature remarks from Chancellor Carol Folt, a presentation from Executive Associate Provost Ron Strauss about the upcoming SACS reaffirmation process, the annual reports of the Faculty Athletics Committee and Faculty Athletics Representative, and a brief demonstration of the new online faculty handbook. Winners of the 2014 Hettleman Awards for achievement by young faculty will be recognized, as will the recipient of the 2014 Thomas Jefferson Award, Prof. Joseph Templeton of Chemistry.
