The Office of Faculty Governance, on behalf of the Committee on Honorary Degrees and Special Awards, is now accepting nominations for the system-wide 2018 O. Max Gardner Award. The award goes to “that member of the faculty of the Consolidated University of North Carolina, who, during the current scholastic year, has made the greatest contribution to the welfare of the human race.”

Nominations will go to the Committee on Honorary Degrees and Special Awards for consideration before the initial campus deadline of December 1, 2017. The Committee will select one nominee from UNC-Chapel Hill to forward to the Board of Governors Committee on the O. Max Gardner Award.

Instructions for submitting a nomination are available on the Office of Faculty Governance website. Nominators will be asked to submit contact information for their nominee and a brief letter of nomination.
