Faculty Council

The Faculty Council makes university-wide educational policies and recommends recipients for honorary degrees and special awards. Meeting materials, membership records, memorials and resolutions are found here.

Faculty Code and Faculty Handbook

The Faculty Code of University Government provides the framework for faculty governance at Carolina. The Faculty Handbook is a portal to policies and resources for teaching, research and professional development opportunities.

Committees advise the faculty and administrators on a range of issues related to teaching, research and campus climate. A list of committees and their charges, memberships and reports are found here.

Get Involved

Nearly three hundred faculty from across the University participate in campus-wide faculty governance every year.

Faculty members serve on the Faculty Council and a diverse array of committees that take up issues such as undergraduate educational policy, promotion and tenure decisions, fixed-term faculty policies, varsity athletics, diversity and faculty welfare. We welcome faculty members to contact us at any time to express interest in service.
