UNC Service

Service is an essential mission of my role as faculty. I have been engaged in service since my hire in 2008. Whether it is service to my School, the University, or the community, I believe it is important to give back through service, and to engage in partnerships with others. I desire to serve a 2nd term on the University's FEC, as I have been an active member and advocate for faculty. I serve on numerous committees in the School of Nursing and led the Carolina Covid Student Services Corps over the past 2 years. I am currently a member of the Educational Policy Committee and also a co-lead for Carolina Next: Benefit to Serve Society.

Candidate Statement

I am applying for a 2nd term on the Faculty Executive Committee. I have enjoyed being a part of this committee, and would like to continue this important work, especially as it relates to advancing the voice of our faculty on university matters. I have been actively engaged on this committee, offering support and guidance to our faculty chair as well as supporting issues as they relate to the faculty council. I feel that I bring a unique voice to this committee, as a member of the health professions campus, and in my work in interprofessional education and practice. As a 2nd term member, I feel I could bring historical knowledge to the team while also continuing to learn about university matters and faculty governance. I will also work to mentor and support others who are contemplating running for faculty elections in the future.
