UNC Service

I have served on Faculty at UNC since 2001 in Otolaryngology after completing medical school and residency at UNC. I serve as Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology, Associate Pediatric Surgeon-in-Chief, Surgical Director of the North Carolina Children's Airway Center (which I helped found with the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology), and serve on the Committee to Review Appointments and Promotions to Associate Professor with Tenure. I previously served on the School of Medicine Admissions Committee for 18 years and teach and mentor undergraduates, medical students, residents, fellows, and graduate students in clinical and research roles.

Candidate Statement

I have been educated and trained in the UNC system, completing my undergraduate education at North Carolina State University and subsequently medical school and residency training at UNC. I have dedicated my professional career to improving the lives and health of the children of North Carolina both as a physician/scientist and through professional service. I seek to build a stronger University and Medical School by investing in and building our greatest asset - our strong human infrastructure. I have served throughout the School of Medicine and collaborate broadly across the University, working to strengthen our common bonds and further our mission together. I would be honored to serve as a member of the Faculty Council to continue in this service.
