UNC Service

I previously served on the Faculty Council representing the School of Nursing from 2015-2017. I was elected to the UNC-Chapel Hill Faculty Assembly Delegation in 2017 and served as chair from 2018 to 2021. I have served in multiple leadership roles with the School of Nursing, most recently as the chair of the Baccalaureate Executive Committee and in my second term on the APR committee. I am the Project Director for the Invest in Nursing HRSA grant and work to advance academic-practice partnerships that will support and sustain the nursing workforce.

Candidate Statement

As a leader, I promote inclusivity and advocacy for faculty and learners. As the chair of the Baccalaureate Executive Committee, I worked to increase awareness of diversity and inclusivity, creating the Inclusive Excellence Workgroup to work on curriculum mapping and faculty development. I ascribe to humanizing pedagogy which emphasizes both learning sciences and culturally responsive teaching. Faculty and learners are capable, resilient humans who bring an array of perspectives and knowledge into our courses. I am an educational leader who recognizes the importance of excellence in education of nursing students and in ensuring our university’s commitment to serving North Carolina, the United States, and the world. I would be honored to serve the University in this role and represent the School of Nursing.
