Outside of services to my Departments of Social Medicine and Department of Philosophy, I have served on the Faculty Advisory Committee for the Institute for Arts and Humanities (2017-2020), as a Faculty Advisor for the Department of Public Policy (2019- present), on the review committee for the Dean of the School of Nursing (2014), among other roles.
Candidate Statement
Appointment to an academic position and the promotion and tenure decisions that may follow are among the most important events in an academic researchers' professional life and deserve to be handled with conscientiousness and respect. As faculty in both the School of Medicine and in the College, and with experience as a faculty advisor to other Departments, as well as my own experience in becoming a full professor at UNC, I have the professional and personal experience to help oversee these important processes with integrity and care.
