Candidate Statement

I am finishing up my first term as a member of the Faculty Council and would love the opportunity to serve again. I am also the current chair of the Committee on Fixed-Term Faculty. In this capacity, I’ve been working alongside dedicated committee members to advocate for fixed-term faculty priorities and interests (e.g., salary compression, contract length) and to increase communication and engagement among fixed-term faculty across units. I will continue to carry this perspective on the Faculty Council. Admittedly, it has been a steep learning curve for me as a council member but as I wrap up my term, I know I’ve learned a great deal and am better equipped to represent our school, make positive contributions to faculty governance, and advocate for the issues important to our school, our students, and the larger campus community.
