Candidate Statement

The IDEAs in Action curriculum is a very important change in the Undergraduate curriculum for UNC students which will prepare them with skills that will be very useful in the current world. As the DUS in the Economics Department, I was involved (along with my chair) in identifying ECON courses for the new curriculum. I have also evaluated courses from other departments for the new curriculum by serving on the IDEAs in Action Course Review Committee in the 2019-2020 academic year. I have been serving on the General Education Oversight Committee since the time it was created, and have participated in discussions as well as evaluation of courses. My above experience makes me an ideal candidate to continue to serve in the committee.
