UNC Service

I am Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division Chief and Fellowship Director of Family Planning in the School of Medicine. I have been at UNC since 2006. My service to UNC includes serving on the Institutional Review Board, The Medical School Executive Committee as an at-large elected member, the NCTraCS Data Safety and Monitoring Board, and medical director of the family planning clinics. I have been an active member of the medical school admissions interviewing team. I have been through two promotions at UNC and would be glad to give back and serve on this important committee.

Candidate Statement

I would be honored to represent the School of Medicine on the Committee on Appointments, Promotions and Tenure. I have supported promotions and appointments for fixed track and tenure track faculty in my division. I have 15 years of experience at UNC in collaborative research, mentorship and clinical leadership with colleagues across UNC in schools such as Pharmacy, Nursing, Arts and Sciences, Law, and Public Health. I understand that collaboration and teamwork are crucial characteristics for success at UNC.

I will bring to the APT Committee a commitment to UNC, and the state of North Carolina. I have collaborative work ethic and I will work to strive for a faculty workforce that mirrors those we serve –the people of North Carolina. I have observed these important characteristics as we work together to approach the COVID-19 pandemi
