UNC Service

Service is an essential mission of my role in the School of Medicine and the Department of Family Medicine. I served on the SOM Accreditation Committee as well as the Admissions Committee (2019-2020). In addition, I serve as the Family Medicine Interest Group physician advisor for medical students. Within the Department of Family Medicine, I have served as the physician lead for the Chronic Care Management work group. Also, I have been a resident and medical student career goal advisor since joining faculty.

Candidate Statement

It is an honor to be nominated for the Faculty Council. At UNC SOM, I work with students, residents, fellows, and faculty. I plan to represent their perspectives as a member of the Faculty Council. My time as a graduate chief resident and faculty development fellow has strengthened my interpersonal and inter-professional skills. As a Clinical Academic Resource Director (CARD), I work with medical students across campuses as well as all years in the SOM. My work in both the outpatient and inpatient clinical settings has strengthened my knowledge of systems-based practice. Importantly, I will continue to champion diversity and inclusion across the University. Finally, I will serve as an advocate for the non-tenured faculty’s role in the mission of UNC-Chapel Hill.
