Candidate Statement

I’m a voting member of two departments, History and Art & Art History, in two different divisions of the College of Arts and Sciences. Earlier in my career, I was a member of a French Studies department, and I have written countless letters of evaluation in promotion cases in all three areas. Navigating different standards for tenure and promotion thus comes naturally to me, and I was exposed to a broad range of fields as a member of ASAC in Fall 2017. No aspect of shared governance is more important than the work of ensuring that such standards are applied both rigorously and fairly and that the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion form part of each promotion decision. If elected to APT I would endeavor to be a voice for all faculty in my commitment to these values.
