Candidate Statement
I chose to be a candidate for this position because I want to extend my service to the University of North Carolina beyond the School of Medicine. I have a long-standing and deep respect for UNC. Having completed my undergraduate education (1970-74), four years of graduate school (1974-76 and 1986-88), and residency training 1980-84, I owe a tremendous debt to UNC and am always looking for ways to give back.
