I serve on the UNC Honor Court as well as being the Honor Court faculty liaison. I am a member of the Process Series advisory board helping to shape the process series season. Within the Department of Dramatic Art I am the Director of Undergraduate Studies and Undergraduate production. In addition I serve on the Department’s Access, Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity committee which seeks to make the Department and its offerings welcoming to all.

Candidate Statement

There are parallels between the world of theatre and athletics, students rehearse/practice and then perform/play. I am supporting my students as they spend numerous hours outside of their normal coursework to create theatrical productions. My research has me looking at mentorship practices during these outside production hours. Because of this I feel that I have a good understanding of the life of the student athletes. I have also worked with many student-athletes in class and had the privilege of creating a documentary theatre piece , Priceless Gem: An Athlete Story which tells stories of UNC athletes. I look forward to serving the university community and would be honored to serve on the faculty athletic committee.
