I have been fortunate to serve on Faculty Council, Fixed-Term Faculty Committee and the Scholarships, Award and Student Aid Committee. Being able to collaborate with and learn from colleagues across campus is of great importance to me. I have also enjoyed serving as the faculty advisor for Alpha Chi Omega where I work with members on networking and career preparation. My teaching and service roles have revealed the diversity of Carolina students, faculty and the wide-ranging issues they face. I am eager to learn more and further my service through another term on faculty council and as a member of the General Education Oversight Committee.

Candidate Statement

As a graduate of Carolina and a faculty member for almost 20 years, I have a vested interest in the teaching and research missions of the University. I am committed to the issues of attracting and retaining faculty, the relationship with the Board of Governors and our educational policies. Teaching a broad range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students has given me a unique perspective. I bring experience in general education curriculum issues as the admissions chair for an undergraduate professional program. I would work to ensure that all Carolina students can thrive within the general education curriculum. I would be honored to serve the greater University, to represent non-tenured faculty in the School of Medicine on faculty council and our undergraduate students on the General Education Oversight Committee.
