UNC Service
I love Carolina and am committed to our motto of Lux Libertas (light and liberty) in the service of humanity.
I have served on the following committees: University of Chicago Free Speech Statement, Confederate Monument, Trademark, & Faculty Awards committees & advisory council - UNC’s Program for Public Discourse.
In support of the university’s telos of seeking truth and knowledge, I & two colleagues performed research on free expression & constructive dialogue at UNC. As a multi-discipline and politically diverse team, we worked together to deliver research that has been covered nationally.
Candidate Statement
UNC’s mission is to teach a diverse community of students to be the next generation of leaders. At KFBS, I support that mission by teaching students to be inclusive business leaders in a global and diverse world. My goal for Carolina is to help us be more global, inclusive, and open to different ideas & viewpoints.
I began teaching at KFBS in 2006 while working as a global marketing executive at Lenovo & IBM. I bring that experience to the classroom. I have also written three books on strategy & leadership with Oxford University Press and was an expert blogger for Fast Company.
Since 2013 I have taught fulltime Carolina, focusing on helping students understand & be successful in a diverse & global world. I do that by relying on research and data about the business world leavened with examples of current firms & my experiences.
