Candidate Statement

I’m invested in diversity, equity and inclusion work, in which I’ve been involved since I came to UNC 11 years ago. The next logical step is to make sure that our grievances are dealt with appropriately. I strive to make UNC a more equitable institution and part of that work also means hearing faculty members’ grievances and looking for fair solutions to those grievances. I have extensive experience in a leadership role, having served on the board of several national organizations. I am also serving as President of the American Association of Teachers of German.
