I served as Associate Dean for Faculty Development at the Law School from 2012-2015. I have also served on the Appointments Committee, Admissions Committee, and Curricular Reform Committee, and the University Review Committee for a prior Law School dean. I advise students and take the lead on coordinating the JD/MPH Concurrent Degree Program, as well as advising the Carolina Health Law Organization.
I have a secondary appointment as Professor of Social Medicine, UNC School of Medicine; and am an Adjunct Professor of Health Policy & Management, UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health

Candidate Statement

The Faculty Council is an important aspect of faculty governance at UNC, but too often professional school faculty members feel distant from the larger University community. As a Law faculty member with many cross-campus interdisciplinary links, particularly my secondary/adjunct appointments in the schools of Medicine and Public Health, I have a broad vision of the campus-wide faculty community. As a member of the Faculty Council, I will not only represent the interests of the Law School, but also work to encourage consideration of the views of our faculty colleagues who do not feel they have a sufficient voice. My goal is to further the development of a true University-wide campus community, in all its richness and diversity.
