UNC Service
As Director of the Neuroscience Microscopy Core, I am a member of the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology, the Neuroscience Center, and the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities. I currently serve as a Member of the Faculty Committee on Research, where I participate in meetings with the Research Deans and Center Directors. I also serve as a faculty First-Year Group Leader for entering BBSP PhD students and since Spring 2020, I have co-led a new graduate course on advanced microscopy. Additionally, I chair a DEI sub-committee for the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology.
Candidate Statement
In my role as a fixed-term Assistant Professor and Core Director, I help to strengthen, organize, and support many different communities at UNC. I am interested in bringing my experience as faculty, core director, and PhD alumna of UNC to the Faculty Council, where I am invested in promoting opportunities and recognition for the diverse and growing community of fixed-term faculty at UNC.
