Candidate Statement

In order to become and remain a truly excellent research university that also excels in its teaching mission, UNC needs to attract and retain the best faculty. And faculty at all ranks need a work environment where they are valued and supported and treated fairly. In all my various service assignments, I saw my role as fostering that kind of work environment. On the Faculty Hearings Committee, standards of fairness are particularly salient, and I am committed to working with colleagues on the committee to uphold them.
