UNC Service

I was appointed by the Chancellor to the Chancellor's Building and Grounds Committee in 2018, and I currently serve as the Chair of that committee. At Kenan-Flagler, I have served in numerous administration positions, including Associate Dean for MBA Programs (1994-1997), Director of the Wood Center for Real Estate Studies (2004-present), MBA Real Estate Concentration Coordinator (1997-present), and Director of the Real Estate Program (1991-present). I also served on the Investment Advisory Committee for the North Carolina Retirement System from 2011 to 2020 (appointed by the NC Treasurer).

Candidate Statement

I began my first term as an at-large member of the Faculty Athletics Committee in 2018, and have learned a great deal about the interface between Athletics and Academics. I have also enjoyed participating in committee discussions, and working with coaches and a large number of athletes to help to improve their UNC experience.. I believe I can continue to add value during a second term, and build on the committee’s accomplishments.

I was a 3-year starter for the University of Delaware's (D1) men's soccer team and have great appreciation for the demands that are placed on student-athletes, their importance to UNC, and that most of their futures will be in careers and opportunities outside of professional athletics. I would also like to bridge the geographical isolation of KFBS by expanding our engagement with main campus.
