UNC Service
In addition to my role as Teaching Assistant Professor, I serve as my department's Director of Instructional Development. I am also designated fixed-term graduate faculty as instructor of our first-semester graduate statistics course. At the departmental level, I am a member of the Diversity Committee (Classroom and Curriculum subgroup). At the university-level, I have worked with the Center for Faculty Excellence as a grant (Large Course Redesign) panel reviewer and I am a member of the Study Abroad for the Sciences working group (Study Abroad Office). I led a UNC program at King's College London and I advise three student organizations.
Candidate Statement
I am running for Faculty Council to represent fixed-term faculty as our roles continue to evolve and adapt to the diverse needs of the university community. In my time at UNC, I have seen firsthand the importance of maintaining close working relationships between tenure-track and fixed-term faculty. In my experience, these relationships have been mutually beneficial for both faculty and students. To ensure meaningful and consistent collaboration, I will work closely with university leaders to ensure fixed-term roles continue to be secure, valued, and resourced. Doing so will facilitate high-quality faculty research and teaching. I strongly believe that we all bring valuable expertise to the university community and working together will ensure that Carolina remains a top-tier university in groundbreaking research and teaching excellence.
