Candidate Statement

After 15 years on Faculty, I'm interested in getting more involved with the day-to-day issues that confront faculty, students, and all others within the UNC community. I care deeply about UNC, the curriculum and our students. My administrative work has been focused on the design and assessment of varied teaching models. This work has informed me on both the pedagogical needs and curricular concerns that face many of our students. In my work visiting faculty classrooms for the Center for Faculty Excellence, I've mentored instructors on their teaching and have spent a great deal of time listening to their concerns and hopes for student learning.
