UNC Service

My university service includes representing the Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics on Faculty Council, as well as serving on the Faculty Wellness, Faculty Grievance, and Faculty Executive committees. Within the College, I served two consecutive terms as the Natural Sciences and Mathematics representative on the Administrative Boards of the College of Arts and Sciences and the General College. I am the Founding Director of the Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Neuroscience Curriculum within the College, and I serve on the Advisory Board for the Chancellor’s Science Scholars program.

Candidate Statement

I came to UNC in 2006 as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. Since then, I have undergone reappointment, tenure, promotion, and post-tenure review. I am a member of the Personnel Committee in my home department, the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. In this role I review and vote on faculty appointments, promotions, and tenure cases. I have served as a chair or a committee member for many faculty search committees in my department. I am interested in being elected to the Arts and Sciences Advisory Committee because it represents important College-level faculty affairs service that is critical to faculty life. My personal experiences, coupled with my relevant departmental service, have provided me with the expertise to serve on the Arts and Sciences Advisory Committee for the Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
