In addition to committee service I have been the Chair of the Institutional Conflicts of Interest Committee from 2012-present, helping the university identify and develop management strategies around institutional conflicts. Candidate Statement

I have been an active member of the UNC community for more than 20 years serving the university, school of medicine and the healthcare system. This includes leadership roles within my department and the healthcare system complemented by service on numerous committees. I have actively engaged as a faculty member who continues to challenge myself and the university to achieve its greatest potential through initiatives focused at equitable treatment for fixed-term faculty, minimizing gender compensation disparities, programs designed for diversity and inclusion along with a focus on living up to our mission of being the leading public university across the country. The challenges that we face as an institution are apparent and my EQ skillset helps me provide insight and perspective while encouraging and engaging others who serve next to me.
