UNC Service

My service to the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School is dedicated to running the undergraduate consulting area of emphasis. Previously, I ran the STAR Program where students worked on projects for UNC units as well as other companies and NGOs. I serve on the Business Practices Council of the AACSB. For UNC more broadly, I have supported the Chancellor, Provost and many Deans/Department Heads in the creation of strategic plans (over 50 units including the entire College of Arts & Sciences). I serve on the Executive BOD for the UNC Educational Foundation. I also served in Faculty Council and on the Faculty Athletics Committee.

Candidate Statement

In addition to my family, I have three primary passions: UNC, strategy and higher education. Over the past 10 years, I have thoroughly enjoyed supporting leaders throughout UNC with strategic planning projects. I have written a number of articles and delivered webinars for the Chronicle of Higher Education and InsideHigherEd related to strategies for transformation in higher education (my website has more details). My father was a president of a community college, and I feel that my calling is to help in any way that I can and support our faculty council and leaders. Serving in the FEC affords direct access to represent our outstanding faculty in major strategic decision-making for the future of our institution. Shared governance can be an extremely effective tool for helping UNC become the best it can be...for all constituents.
