I serve as a Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Education and direct the undergraduate program in Human Development and Family Studies. Within the School of Education, I serve on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Curriculum Committees. On the larger campus, I collaborate with the Center for Faculty Excellence on initiatives related to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. I also serve/d on adhoc campus level committees for classroom modernization, field experiences, and gender-based-violence prevention. I recently participated in the Relational Leadership Institute and a year-long Faculty Leadership training with the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE).

Candidate Statement

At my prior institution, I served as a faculty senate representative and on a faculty rights and responsibility committee where I had the opportunity to review policies that impacted faculty governance and responsibilities. I often advocated for policies that were inclusive and considered the diverse needs and representation of faculty. In my current roles, I engage in conversations and strategies for improving teaching and learning experiences, diversity equity and inclusion for faculty, staff, and students, and gender-based violence prevention. My approach to leadership is both relational and adaptive. The pandemic taught us to “expect plans to change’ and I am prepared to advocate for inclusive and forward-thinking policies for faculty development that are reflective of the changing times.
