UNC Service
I currently serve on the Faculty Executive Committee. Other recent service includes the UNC Faculty Award Selection Committee (2020-21), the UNC Distinguished Professors Selection Committee (2019), the Data Science Task Force (2019), and the Kenan Institute Board of Advisors (2012-2021). Before returning to full-time research and teaching in 2016, I served as Vice Chancellor for Research for six years, leading research campus-wide; overseeing 10 research development, support, and compliance offices; and responsible for 15 pan-university research centers and institutes.
Candidate Statement
Because of my long tenure at UNC-Chapel Hill, as well as my cross-campus experience as Vice Chancellor for Research, I am interested in, concerned about, and well qualified to address a wide variety of issues as they affect this campus, public universities in the state and nation, and higher education in general.
