Candidate Statement
I seek membership on the Appointments, Promotions, and Tenure Committee for Professional Schools. Having filled in for an APT committee member last year, I would like to continue to serve this critical function. In doing so, I seek to ensure that APT candidates are evaluated fairly, taking into consideration the full range of factors that contribute to a faculty member's career trajectory. This consideration is particularly important for women of color, men of color, and white women, who experience fundamentally different realities in university life. My research on gender and racial diversity within public organizations gives me expertise on these different realities that could be useful to have in APT deliberations.
