Candidate Statement

My experience in teaching and in my service to ROMS and to the University has taught me the importance of establishing a cooperative spirit among the faculty and with the administration, the value of collaborating with my colleagues from all language sections, departments and at all ranks, and the significance of well-organized committees.

I believe it is crucial that each member of the University of North Carolina use their talents to benefit our students, in and out of the classroom, for the university to continue thriving. As the opportunities arises, I hope to contribute to the Faculty Council in its mission to improve our educational policies and to help identify candidates that merit an honorary degrees or special award. I look forward to continuing my service to UNC, the Department of Romance Studies, and the UNC community.
