- Appointed: 2004
- Ph.D., University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, 2004
I am the Spanish Undergraduate Program Coordinator for ROMS, a mentor for teaching stream faculty in ROMS, and the Faculty Advisor of the ROMS Film Club.
I have also been a member of the following committees in ROMS: Technology and Innovation Committee, Recognition Committee, Teaching and Learning Global Languages Program Committee, Working Group for Heritage Learners Curriculum Development, Undergraduate Advisory Committee, and Remote-Teaching Advisory Team
I serve on the Hearings Board Panel of the Office of Student Conduct, on the SURF Review Panel, and was a Member of the College of Arts & Sciences 2021-22 Academic Planning Committee
My experience in teaching and in my service to ROMS and to the University has taught me the importance of establishing a cooperative spirit among the faculty and with the administration, the value of collaborating with my colleagues from all language sections, departments and at all ranks, and the significance of well-organized committees.
I believe it is crucial that each member of the University of North Carolina use their talents to benefit our students, in and out of the classroom, for the university to continue thriving. As the opportunities arises, I hope to contribute to the Faculty Council in its mission to improve our educational policies and to help identify candidates that merit an honorary degrees or special award. I look forward to continuing my service to UNC, the Department of Romance Studies, and the UNC community.
