Candidate Statement

There are multiple reasons I am running for APT: (1) provide continuity and experience to the Committee, (2) satisfaction serving with a thoughtful and experienced group of faculty, (3) intellectual enjoyment discovering the fascinating scholarship and activities of UNC’s diverse faculty. As a faculty member, I have taught undergraduate, graduate student, and medical student classes, and developed an appreciation and admiration for all scholarly endeavors including fine arts, social sciences, natural sciences, clinical sciences, and professional disciplines. My research in neuroscience has been funded by NIH and NSF and I have served on review panels for both organizations. These experiences and many others, along with my service on promotion committees, have given me the experience and insight to be a thoughtful and fair member of APT.
