UNC Service

I have been a faculty member at UNC for almost 10 years in the Department of Pediatrics in the School of Medicine. I am a Pediatric Critical Care physician, and I spend the majority of my non-clinical time as medical director for both pediatric extracorporeal life support and respiratory care. I also serve as a member of the Hospital Transfusion Committee, Pediatric Thromboembolism Prevention work-group, Department of Pediatrics faculty development committee, and the Pediatric Asthma Committee. I have been a member of UNC Faculty Council for the last 3 years.

Candidate Statement

Over the last 3 years as a member of Faculty Council, I have enjoyed being part of the larger university setting, beyond the hospital. It has been such a privilege to witness the university leadership weathering the storms of the last 3 years: Silent Sam, NCAA investigations, and now COVID-19. I hope to continue on as a member of faculty council and perhaps ultimately serve on a subcommittee. I will continue to champion diversity and inclusion, and faculty wellness and burnout prevention. I have experience working with interdisciplinary teams as a member of multiple multi-disciplinary departmental and hospital committees as as a leader of Pediatric Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS) and Respiratory Care.
