UNC Student Stores is excited to share that over the last two years, students saved over $4 million on course materials when shopping at the campus store. This savings was achieved with discounting course materials 10% off of standard pricing, a robust rental selection and relevant price-matching program. We strive to always focus on affordability and convenience for students, along with supporting the wants and needs of the faculty.

Ensuring that students have their course materials the first day of class is critical to academic success. With that in mind, the store has developed digital delivery solutions that are not only affordable because they are below market pricing, but the content is available to the students before the first day of class.   We can provide options digital delivery for publisher courseware, OER content, digital books and digital coursepacks.  Faculty cooperation in getting course material requests in a timely manner provides us the strongest foundation to work with faculty and departments to explore the most affordable and best format options that will meet the faculty request and satisfy the student’s needs.

The Student Stores is the traditional partner that the campus has always known, and we continually welcome feedback and dialogue to innovate and grow our offerings and services to students, faculty and the campus community. Some of the recent and revitalized options in our suite of programs include:

  • Faculty Enlight: Our online adoption platform that allows faculty to easily research and adopt course material options for students. An introduction to the system can be found at
  • Digital Delivery and First Day Access: We can work with publishers to provide the lowest priced content that students have access to before the first day of classes.
  • Open Educational Resources: We have courseware solutions that engage the use of Open Educational Resources (OER) paired with analytics programs to provide a complete course solution. Our Faculty Enlight platform can integrate with multiple OER providers.
  • Coursepacks: Do you reference content from multiple sources? Digital and print coursepacks are an affordable and convenient option to compile content for student availability.
  • Live Links: We can provide you a link to share with your students via email or syllabus that connects students right to their course materials to make ordering their materials easier and quicker.

We were ready to start receiving your course material requests starting Monday, September 17 and we hope to receive most of the information by Wednesday, October 31. This will give the textbook staff ample time to find the lowest cost options and discuss different format availability with faculty and departments.
