If your OneCard fails to unlock the door to the Anne Queen Faculty Commons during the times the room is available, please try again while following these steps:

  • Be sure that your card’s strip is facing to the left and that your card is firmly seated in the reader.  Note that the slot is not vertical but oblique, angling away from the door as the card moves downward.
  • Swipe your card slowly. Wait several seconds for the “access” light to turn green, which indicates that the swipe was successful.  Wait another second before opening the door.  The card readers depend on wireless communication, so they may take a few seconds to respond.
  • If the “access” light turns red, wait several seconds for the reader to reset before swiping your card again.  If there’s no light at all, then the magnetic stripe on your card may be defective.

If the advice above fails, please contact us with a description of the problem and your PID. Either call us at 919-962-7748 or email us at facgov@unc.edu and we’ll follow up to fix the problem.
