The Anne Queen Faculty Commons is currently undergoing summer renovations. Due to the popularity of the lounge, much of the furniture in the room has undergone significant wear and tear and has even become hazardous. The Office of Faculty Governance is working to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone who visits the lounge, while still upholding the integrity and atmosphere of the lounge. Results from the survey sent to UNC-Chapel Hill General Faculty raised concerns about the quality and quantity of the furniture in the room, particularly as it relates to reservations. The first phase of the renovation plan includes removing damaged furniture and adding more tables and stackable chairs. During the second phase, digital signage will be added to the lounge in order to improve communication related to room reservations.
