The Faculty Council unanimously passed Resolution 2016-15 On Calling for the Repeal of a Portion of HB 562. The Retired Faculty Association’s Executive Committee brought the draft resolution to the Faculty Executive Committee for feedback and revisions before presenting it to the Faculty Council. The resolution calls upon the legislature to repeal a portion of a recently passed provision in HB 562 that allows people with conceal carry permits to remove a firearm from their vehicle on campus if they feel there is a deadly threat. Professor emeritus Andy Dobelstein presented the resolution.
