Dear colleagues:
Carolina’s mid-year commencement ceremony will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the Dean E. Smith Center. Faculty members are invited to join the processional with or without regalia.
As has been the campus tradition, a member of our faculty, Paul Cuadros, associate professor in the School of Media and Journalism and executive director of the UNC Scholars’ Latino Initiative, will be the featured speaker. He was selected by Chancellor Folt in consultation with the Commencement Speaker Selection Committee, which includes students and faculty. His selection highlights Carolina’s continued tradition of outstanding faculty speakers at the ceremony. Please make time out of your busy schedules so that we can show our support to Professor Caudros during this important time (again, with or without regalia).
Participating faculty will assemble at 1:30 p.m. in the Press Room of the Smith Center. Use Entry D and take the elevator down to the court level.
Faculty parking will be in the top tier of the Manning Lot. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Stacey Warner at staceywarner@unc.edu so your name can be added to the parking list.
To access the top tier of the Manning Lot, enter via Skipper Bowles Drive by the Ernie Williamson Athletic Center. The Manning Lot top tier is located beside the Smith Center. See the map here.
