Faculty Council will meet this coming Friday, December 7th, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm in the Hitchcock Room of the Sonja Haynes Stone Center.  Council members and guests are invited to come at 2:30 to mingle and enjoy a few refreshments before the meeting!

The meeting agenda is now posted here.  We’ll be adding two short reports that will be received “by title” sometime Wednesday; neither are expected to propose any action steps.

Among the meeting’s highlights: Provost Carney will be giving a short presentation on “MOOC’s.”  If you haven’t familiarized yourself with the phenomenon of “massive open online courses” across higher education yet, we’ve posted with the agenda (and offer here) a link to a really good compendium of information about it from the Chronicle of Higher Education.  You can access all Chronicle of Higher Education content free from the campus network or, if you are at home, via the Libraries and your ONYEN.

The meeting will also feature several other informational presentations and updates.  All faculty members are invited to join us and bring your ideas and questions.
