Faculty Council will hold its October meeting on Friday, October 4th, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm in the Pleasants Room of Wilson Library. The agenda is now available here, and all members of the faculty are welcome to attend.
Highlights of this month’s meeting include continued discussion of the Rawlings Report on athletics and higher education with a panel including Provost Jim Dean, Athletics Director Bubba Cunningham, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Admissions Steve Farmer, Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes Director Michelle Brown, Faculty Athletics Committee Chair Joy Renner, and Faculty Athletics Representative Lissa Broome.
As usual, the Council will also hear remarks from Chancellor Carol Folt, Provost Dean, and Chair of the Faculty Jan Boxill, Chancellor Folt will honor Prof. Gene Nichol (Law) with this year’s prestigious Thomas Jefferson Award.
